Bruce has an immense curiosity for how and why things work. He approaches all situations with an analytical and creative mind, constantly developing new ways to make something more useful and efficient, whether it be the best recipe for tomato bisque, a small detail to a Brazilian jiu-jitsu technique, or the workflow for a project. He has worked in multiple industries, including a short time in engineering and several entrepreneurial ventures, but he always had a special place in his heart for the culinary world. After more than a decade in the hospitality industry in every role imaginable, including sushi chef, general manager, and sommelier, Bruce determined he could make the greatest impact through technology. He was ready to combine the two disciplines, and Devour Creative was born.
In the web development world, his design is rooted in problem solving and understanding the client’s needs by thinking outside the template. Bruce’s specializations are front-end web development, user experience design (UX), and accessibility compliance. He keeps his finger on the pulse of web development, ascertaining what changes are coming and might affect a client in the future, such as and new regulations or technologies. In his spare time, Bruce designed and developed a learning management system to teach people about wine, beer, and spirits — with more to come — to feed their aspirations in becoming experts in their field of choice.
Bruce's interests are broad: artificial intelligence, kinesiology, performative psychology, film, competitive fighting, and much more. All of these interests have fed and led to a desire to invest in humanity, particularly in ways to empower people to improve their lives. His focus is in the culinary technology world, but he gets his inspiration from a diverse number of topics. He spends is leisure time playing volleyball, training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu & Muay Thai, rock climbing, or building something.
